The Mount
The Mount is on Whitestreet Green, Suffolk. It's a semi-detached cottage, part of an old stable block that's been converted. It sleeps two, one bedroom and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The place is bright and feels quite spacious for two people. There's a patio area with a table and chairs, which is sunny in the afternoon. You get views over the fields at the back. The kitchen has a washing machine, and bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside.
It's a rural spot, so it's quiet. You can start walks straight from the door down the lanes. The nearest shop and pub are in Hartest, about a mile and three-quarters away. It’s a nice walk if you don't mind the distance.
There are a lot of pretty villages around here. Lavenham is famous for its old buildings, Kersey is very small and photogenic, and Long Melford has a long street of antique shops. Sudbury and Hadleigh are the closest proper market towns.
For a bigger day out, Bury St Edmunds and its Abbey Gardens are about half an hour's drive. Same for Newmarket if you're interested in the racing. Cambridge is just under an hour.
