Y Beudy

This property is called Y Beudy. It's a converted barn near Pwll glas in Denbighshire, North Wales. It's on my land.

It sleeps 14. It's got seven bedrooms and four bathrooms. One of those bathrooms is a ground floor wet room, which is good for accessibility. There's a lift inside that goes between the floors for the same reason.

The layout is a bit unusual. It's on four levels. The main kitchen, dining, and living space is in the middle. There's a separate games room on the ground floor with a big TV, table football, and a PlayStation. There's also a playroom with toys. On the lower ground floor, there's an extra living space and a small kitchenette, which could be for a group wanting a bit of separation, or grandparents.

The stairs are open tread. They feel a bit steep going up to the top bedrooms.

Outside, there's a hot tub on the deck. The view from it is very good, looking out over the fields. There's a children's play area, but it's shared with our other cottage on the site.

You're allowed up to two dogs.

The local village has a shop and a pub, both about a mile and a half away. Ruthin is four miles. That's a proper market town with places to eat and a good craft centre.

If you want to go further out, Llandegla Forest is about 20 minutes away for mountain biking or walking. Chester is less than half an hour's drive. Betws-y-Coed, which is the gateway to Snowdonia, is about 40 minutes. The coast is a bit further, maybe 45 minutes to an hour.

For things to do, it's worth looking at the Snowdonia National Park website or Visit Wales.

Facilities: it's got pretty much everything. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, bed linen and towels included. Parking for several cars. There's a barbecue and a wood burner.
