Oak House

This is Oak House. It's a detached place in Rhewl, up in Denbighshire. The owners live next door in the farmhouse, which is handy if you need anything, but you won't see them unless you want to.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after.

The main thing is the view. You're about a mile and a half up a single-track lane, so you're up high. The living room looks straight out over the valley towards Moel Famau and the Clwydian Range. There are sliding doors to a Juliet balcony, so you can stand there with your tea and look at the hills. It changes with the weather.

The layout is a bit different. You come in on the ground floor to the bedrooms. Then you go upstairs to the living room, kitchen and dining area. The kitchen has what you need. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher.

Outside, there's a patio at ground level with a table and chairs. It gets the sun in the afternoon. You can store bikes around the back.

You're in a proper rural spot. The lane is narrow, so take it easy driving up. The nearest pub is about two and a half miles away in Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd. Ruthin is a ten minute drive. It's a nice old town with a castle, a good butchers, and some decent places to eat. The Ruthin Gaol is worth a visit if you like history.

For walking, you can just step out the door. The Clwydian Hills are right there. You can drive over the Horseshoe Pass to Llangollen in about twenty minutes. The coast, like Prestatyn, is about half an hour away if you fancy the beach. Betws-y-Coed and Snowdonia are roughly forty minutes by car.

Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a cot and highchair if you need them, and all the bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
