Ray Bells is a cottage on the Hirsel Estate in Coldstream. It’s for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating, which generally means it’s well kept and comfortable.
The cottage is part of a pair, so there's another one right next door. It's open plan downstairs. There’s a wood burning stove. Parking is right outside.
You’re in the middle of the estate grounds. There’s a lake nearby that’s known for otters and birds. Good walks start from the door, especially around Dundock Wood. The rhododendrons there are something in May and June.
A mile down the road there’s a shop and a pub. On the estate itself, in the Homestead courtyard, there’s a tea room for lunch, some craft workshops and a small museum. There’s also an 18-hole golf course right next to the cottage.
Berwick-upon-Tweed and the coast are about half an hour’s drive. Edinburgh is an hour away if you fancy a city trip.
It’s got a washing machine, WiFi and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
