Lakeview
This is Lakeview. It's one of a pair of cottages on the Hirsel Estate just outside Coldstream.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. There's one main bathroom and a ground floor wet room, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
You're right on the estate. The cottage looks out towards the lake. You see swans a lot. There are good walks from the door, around the lake and through Dundock Wood. The rhododendrons there are something else in May and June.
The golf course is next door. In the Homestead courtyard, a short walk away, there's a tea room, some craft workshops and a small museum. There's a shop and a pub about a mile away in the village.
You're about half an hour from the coast at Berwick-upon-Tweed. The beaches there are good, long and sandy. Edinburgh is an hour's drive if you want a city day. Northumberland National Park is also within easy reach.
For facilities, it's got a woodburning stove, WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.
