The Annex At Fernyrig Birgham

The Annex is attached to our house here in Birgham. It's a bungalow, so everything's on one level, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well finished.

It's really for two people. There's one bedroom with a double bed. The living room has a double sofa bed if you need to squeeze in two more, but it's best for a couple. One bathroom, which has both a bath and a separate walk-in shower. The floors are tiled with underfloor heating, which is lovely in winter. There's a wood burner too.

The main thing is the view. The living room and the enclosed garden face south-west, looking out over the Tweed Valley towards the Cheviot hills. You can sit with a cup of tea and just watch the light change.

You can bring one dog. There's a kennel outside if needed. There's parking for two cars, and an electric vehicle charger.

We're in the Scottish Borders, just north of the actual border with England. The River Tweed is a few hundred yards away. The nearest pub is about a mile and a half. The nearest shop is in Coldstream, about five miles.

Coldstream and Kelso are close by. Berwick-upon-Tweed and the coast are about a 30 minute drive east. If you're interested in fishing on the Tweed, we can help arrange that. For general planning, the Visit Scotland Borders site is useful, and National Trust for Scotland has properties nearby.

Inside, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair.
