Beach Bay Cottage is on the Isle of Lewis, in a place called Carnais. It looks straight out over Uig Bay. The beach is about a hundred yards from the door. It's a white sand beach, quite special really, and it's officially a National Scenic Area.
The cottage sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. One bathroom has a Jacuzzi bath. There's also a small sauna for two people in the house. It's all on one floor and designed to be accessible, with wide doors and a wet room. The roof is turf, which is unusual. It's got a woodburning stove for cooler evenings.
It's very quiet. The nearest neighbour isn't close. There's a small community shop about three miles away in Timsgarry. The Abhainn Dearg whisky distillery is a short walk down the road, maybe ten minutes. For a cafe or a meal out, you're looking at a ten to fifteen minute drive.
You're right on the coast for walking. The beach is good for families, and it's a known spot for surfers and kite surfers. For birdwatching or history, you're well placed. The Callanish Stones are about a twenty-minute drive. The Visit Outer Hebrides site has more on that. Stornoway is roughly an hour's drive if you need a bigger supermarket or the ferry.
Facilities: There's parking right outside. The garden is enclosed. It has a BBQ, wifi, a washing machine, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. Sorry, no pets.
