Tor Hatch House

Tor Hatch House is on a private drive in Shere. It's a big house for big groups, sleeps ten. Five bedrooms, three bathrooms.

It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and finished to a high standard. The main thing is the view from the back. It looks out over a valley in the Surrey Hills. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing dogs.

Inside, the layout is fairly traditional. There's a large kitchen, a dining room that leads onto the garden, a sitting room with an open fire, and a big conservatory. Upstairs, all the bedrooms are doubles. The master bedroom is particularly large and has a big en-suite.

On the grounds, there's a shared outdoor swimming pool and a tennis court. They're shared with a few other houses on the same drive, but it's never been busy when we've been up.

Being in the Surrey Hills, the main thing to do is walk. The property backs onto fields and footpaths. You can walk into Shere village easily, which has a couple of pubs and a shop. For a longer walk, the North Downs Way is close by. Cycling is popular here too, lots of quiet lanes.

If you want to venture out, Guildford is about a twenty minute drive. They've got the usual high street shops and a theatre. Dorking is about the same distance the other way. For a day out, the National Trust has several properties nearby, like Polesden Lacey and The Devil's Punch Bowl.

Facilities cover what you'd expect: towels and bedding are included, there's parking, WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
