Tor Hatch Cottage is in Shere, on a private drive off a quiet lane. It's next to the main house but you have your own entrance. The view from the front looks out over a valley in the Surrey Hills. You can use the owner's large garden.
It sleeps four in two double bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's a 4 Star property, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The living room has a wood burning stove.
The kitchen has what you'd need. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. WiFi is included. You can park right outside.
You're allowed to bring two dogs. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
There are footpaths straight from the garden into the fields. You can walk to Shere village and its pubs. Cyclists use the lanes around here a lot. The Olympic road race went past nearby.
If you want fresh eggs, you can often get some from the owner's chickens, depending on how the hens are laying.
For days out, Guildford is about 20 minutes by car. The National Trust Surrey Hills page is useful for walking routes. Box Hill is a 30 minute drive and is popular for cycling and views. You can be in south London suburbs like Epsom in half an hour.
