Leacon Hall Oast

This is Leacon Hall Oast. It's attached to our house, but you've got your own space. We live in a white farmhouse from the 1700s, and the Oast is in the grounds. It's a converted oast house, so the main living room and one bedroom are round.

It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. The kitchen is a good size and leads out to the garden. The garden faces south, gets the sun all day, and it's fully fenced, which is good if you're bringing a dog. We allow one well-behaved dog.

Upstairs, the master bedroom is in the round part of the oast. All the bedrooms look out over the fields. The stairs are a bit steeper than in a modern house, just so you know.

It's quiet here. There's a pub called the Woolpack Inn about a ten-minute walk up the lane. They do food. For shops, you'd drive to Hamstreet or Appledore, they're a few miles away. The coast is about fifteen minutes by car. Rye is a short drive west, it's an old town with cobbled streets. If you like gardens, Sissinghurst Castle Garden and Great Dixter are within half an hour.

For walking, the Royal Military Canal path and the Saxon Shore Way are close by. Ashford is about twenty minutes north if you need a big supermarket or the outlet shopping. Canterbury is maybe forty-five minutes, and Whitstable is on the way there.

In terms of what's here: there's parking right outside, a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, Wi-Fi, and a barbecue. We provide bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
