Lay Your Hat In Winchester is a one bedroom cottage near the city centre. It sleeps three, but one person would be on a bed set up in the study upstairs. It's handy for one or two people, really. It's got a 4 Star rating.
It's on two floors. The stairs are quite steep, which is common here. The shower room is downstairs.
There's a wood burning stove in the sitting room. The kitchen has a washing machine and a dishwasher. Outside is a small, enclosed courtyard garden. It's private and gets the sun in the evening. There's a piece of old stone out there from Hyde Abbey.
You can walk into Winchester in about ten minutes. Everything's there: the cathedral, the high street, the river walks. It's an easy base for seeing the city.
If you're driving out, the New Forest is about twenty minutes south. The South Downs National Park is to the east, maybe half an hour. The coast at Southampton is about forty minutes.
For planning, these sites are useful: Visit Winchester, National Trust Hampshire, and South Downs National Park.
Facilities include WiFi, TV, all bedding and towels, and underfloor heating. There's a highchair if needed. No pets.
