Birdsong Cabin is in Lower Breakish on the Isle of Skye. It's a wooden cabin right next to our house, but it's completely separate. You've got your own patio area.
It sleeps two people. One bedroom and one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 3 Star rating. That means it's clean and comfortable, but it's not a luxury hotel. It's a cabin.
The name is accurate. You can hear a lot of birds in the morning, especially if you leave the window open. The views are the main thing. You look out over the sea towards the mountains on the mainland.
Ashaig beach is a short walk down the lane. It's a mix of sand and pebbles. You'll often see seals in the water there. Otters are around too, but they're shyer.
For a shop or a meal, you need to drive to Broadford. That's about five minutes away. There's a good local pub there as well.
You can drive to a lot of places from here. Sleat is about twenty minutes south, and Portree is maybe forty minutes north. The drive to Applecross, over the pass, is spectacular but not for nervous drivers. Eilean Donan Castle is on the way to the mainland.
Inside, there's a washing machine, a TV, and WiFi. The bedding and towels are included. There's space to store bicycles if you bring them. You can park right outside.
