This is Nether Whitlaw Cottage, near the village of Midlem in the Scottish Borders. It’s detached, so no neighbours attached to your walls.
The cottage sleeps up to six people in three bedrooms. Two of those are upstairs with a family bathroom. Downstairs on the ground floor there's a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. That can be useful.
It’s a solid 4 Star holiday home. That means it’s comfortable and well-equipped, but not a show home. You’ve got a woodburning stove in the sitting room, a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a TV and WiFi included. The parking is on site.
You can bring up to two dogs. The bedding and towels are provided.
The garden is yours to use and it looks west over fields and hills, so you get the sunsets.
For things to do, you’re about a ten minute drive from Selkirk. It’s a Borders town with the usual shops, cafes and a couple of pubs. There’s fishing on the River Tweed, golf locally, and plenty of walking routes. A bit further on is Abbotsford House, which was Sir Walter Scott’s home. It’s worth a visit if you’re interested in that sort of thing.
