Glynogwr Lodge is in the village of Glynogwr, near Bridgend. It's a modern lodge built into the slope, so you get views from the back over the valley. It has a 4 Star rating, which it gets for things like being spacious and having good facilities.

It sleeps eight. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, two of which are en-suite. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a gravel parking area at the top for three or four cars.

The main living space is open plan. The kitchen area has a dishwasher and washing machine. The dining table seats eight. It's a practical space. Patio doors lead out to a decked area.

That deck has a hot tub and some furniture. It's private and gets the sun in the evening. The garden below the deck is steep and wooded, so it's not really for using.

The stairs are fine, but there is a step down from the kitchen into the lounge area which you need to watch for.

The location is good for getting around. You're about ten minutes from Junction 36 of the M4. Cardiff is about half an hour's drive. The coast at Porthcawl is twenty minutes away. For walking, the National Trust has a few places nearby like Dunraven Bay.

There's a local pub in the village, a couple of minutes' walk away. They serve food. For a bigger shop, you'll need to drive to Bridgend.

In terms of things to do, there's local fishing and horse riding. You can be on the Welsh coast path quickly. If you want history, St Fagans museum is about forty minutes away. For a day out, the Brecon Beacons are just under an hour's drive.

What's included: all the bedding and towels, WiFi, TV, and the utilities are covered. There's parking on site. The hot tub is checked and cleaned before you arrive.
