Penny Croft
Penny Croft is our place in Llangeinor. It's a detached cottage at the edge of the village, so you get quiet and a view over the fields. We fixed it up a few years ago so it's comfortable but still feels like a cottage.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms: two doubles and a twin. Two bathrooms, which helps. It's got a 4 Star rating, which basically means it's well-equipped and clean.
The main living room has exposed stone walls and beams. There's a separate snug room off the kitchen if someone wants to read or watch something different on the telly. The kitchen is big and open plan, good for a group to all be in together.
Outside, there's a courtyard at the front and a garden. The garden gets colourful in spring and summer. You get a good view from there.
There's a pub about a hundred yards down the road. They serve food. The nearest proper shop is about three miles away in Bridgend.
If you like mountain biking, Afan Forest Park is close. They say it's some of the best in the world. For walking, the same. The Gower Peninsula is about a 45 minute drive for beaches and coastal walks.
Cardiff is roughly half an hour by car. It's easy to get around. The castle is there, and the stadium. Caerphilly Castle is about the same distance the other way, and yes, you can get the cheese there.
Facilities: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for a couple of cars on the drive. No pets, sorry.
It can be booked with the cottage next door if you need space for more people.
