Mushroom Cottage

Mushroom Cottage is in Tylorstown, in the Rhondda Valley. It's not in Blaenrhondda as the previous description said, that was a mistake. Apologies for any confusion. It's a terrace cottage.

It sleeps five. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. A double in one room, and a bunk bed plus a single bed in the other. It's got a 4 Star rating.

The main thing is the garden. It's a good size, fully enclosed, and it looks straight out over the valley towards the hills. There's a patio with seating and a barbecue. It catches the sun in the afternoon and evening. You can see a lot of sky from up there.

Inside, it's clean and warm. There's a wood burner in the living room. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's Wi-Fi and a TV. All bedding and towels are included.

You can bring up to two dogs. Please just keep them off the furniture.

Tylorstown itself has the basics: a couple of shops, a takeaway, a pub. For a bigger shop, you'd go to Ferndale or Pontypridd.

The Rhondda Heritage Park in Trehafod is about a 15-minute drive. It's good for understanding the history of the valleys. For walking, you're right on the edge of it all. The mountain roads and old mining trails start practically at the door.

Within half an hour you can get to a lot. Pontypridd is about 20 minutes for more shops and the Lido. The southern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park is about 25 minutes north. Cardiff is about 35-40 minutes drive south if you want a city day or to go to the stadium.

Facilities to note: there's a hot tub in the garden. It's serviced between guests. Parking is on the street outside the cottage, it's usually fine finding a spot.
