Old Town of Aigas is in Fanellan, up near Beauly in the Highlands. It's a detached cottage. The garden is decent and enclosed, so it's safe for kids or a dog, though we don't take pets here.
It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms. One bathroom is an en-suite off the downstairs master bedroom, and there's another family bathroom upstairs. So there's two toilets, which helps. The stairs are normal.
The place is rated 4 Star. It's comfortable and well-equipped. There's a wood burner in the living room and they provide the wood. You get a washing machine, WiFi, and all the bedding and towels are included. There's parking right there.
The main thing is the view. The front of the cottage looks straight out over the River Beauly. You can sit and watch it. It's very quiet.
You're about ten minutes from the village of Beauly itself. It's small but it has shops, a couple of cafes, and a Co-op for food. For a bigger shop, you'd go to Inverness.
If you like walking, you're right on the doorstep for it. You can walk along the river. Glen Affric is about a half hour drive and it's one of the best places for a proper walk in the country. For history, Beauly Priory is in the village.
Inverness is maybe 25 minutes by car. Loch Ness is about 40 minutes. The Visit Inverness Loch Ness site has ideas for days out. The National Trust for Scotland has good information for the area too.
That's about it. It's a good, solid base for seeing things or just for sitting and looking at the river.
