The Farmhouse Retreat is on our working farm in Heyrod, between Mossley and Stalybridge. It's a bungalow, all on one level with just a couple of steps up to the bedroom. It sleeps two.
It's got a four star rating. It's comfortable and modern inside. There's a patio area with a table and chairs that's just for you, with a view over the fields.
You're on a farm, so there are animals. We have dogs, and there are chickens that roam about. You'll hear the cockerels in the morning. If that doesn't sound like your thing, it probably isn't the right place.
We're on the Tame Valley Loop, so it's good if you like cycling. There's secure bike storage. You can walk from the door, up into the Pennines. Stalybridge Country Park is close by. For a bigger walk, Dovestone Reservoir is about a twenty minute drive.
There's a 17th century pub about a mile down the lane for food. Stalybridge station is a five minute drive. You can get a train into Manchester city centre in about fifteen minutes.
The edge of the Peak District is a fifteen to twenty minute drive. For planning walks there, the Peak District National Park website is useful.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, TV, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot. No pets, sorry.
