The Store Roadhead

The Store is in Roadhead, which is in Cumbria, right near the Scottish border. It's part of a group of cottages called Bailey Mill, but you'd have your own space.

It sleeps seven, in three bedrooms. Two are doubles. The third one has bunk beds and a single bed, so it's good for a family or a few kids. There are two bathrooms, both with showers. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean without being fancy. Everything is on one level, which is handy.

Inside, it's mostly one big open room for the kitchen, dining and living area. It means everyone's together. The facilities are what you'd expect: TV, dishwasher, parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.

Outside there's a patio with a table and chairs. It looks out over fields. It's very quiet here.

There's a pub within walking distance. The area is good for walking and fishing. For a bigger day out, Kielder Forest and its observatory are about a 20-minute drive away. Hadrian's Wall is within half an hour. The coast and the Lake District are a bit further, maybe 45 minutes to an hour depending on traffic.
