Island Lodge Little Baddow

Island Lodge is in Little Baddow, Essex, on Paper Mill Island. It's a detached cabin, so you're on your own. It sleeps two, one bedroom with an en-suite shower. The rating is 4 Star.

It's right on the river Chelmer. You've got your own private mooring, so if you have a canoe or a paddleboard you can launch straight from the garden. You'll hear the weir from the place, it's a constant background rush. The main room is open plan with big glass doors out to a private patio, looking over the water.

Over the footbridge, there's a tearoom that's popular. You can watch the narrowboats going through the lock. The same people run boat trips and hire out canoes in summer.

The towpath goes for miles in both directions, to Chelmsford one way and out to Maldon and the sea the other. It's flat, good for walking or cycling. For proper woods and hills, Danbury Common and Blakes Wood are close by. The village of Danbury has places to eat, and you're about ten minutes' drive from the A12.

The kitchen has what you need. There's a TV, WiFi, parking, and bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
