Applecross Manse is a house near Applecross Bay in the Highlands. It sits on a slight hill so the views are good. You look out over the water to the Isle of Skye.
It’s a listed Victorian villa from 1824, so it’s old and solid. It sleeps six, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. It’s got a 4 Star rating. The place is in its own five-acre grounds, which go right down to the shore. It feels quite private.
The stairs are standard for an old house. The garden is enclosed. There’s a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking is on site. No pets, sorry.
Out the back, there are hills you can walk up for the views. There’s a small private loch nearby called Loch a’Mhinisteir. Out the front, you can walk around the bay. You might see dolphins or eagles. The local pine martens are known to visit the garden sometimes.
The village of Applecross itself has a pub and a shop. It’s a short drive away. For a bigger shop, you’d drive to Lochcarron or Kyle of Lochalsh.
If you want to explore, Skye is over the water. The drive around the Applecross peninsula is famous. It’s single track with passing places. Torridon and Beinn Eighe are within about half an hour for serious walking.
