Sanctuary Cottage is in Miltown, Applecross. That's in the Highlands and Islands, up on the west coast. It's a detached 19th century cottage with its own garden that goes down to the shore.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, and each one has its own bathroom. So nobody's queuing. It's rated 4 Star, which is good. It's been renovated to a high standard.
The biggest thing is the view. You look right out over the Inner Sound to the islands of Raasay, Rona, and Skye. You can see them from the garden and most of the house.
It's a quiet area. To get to Applecross you come over the Bealach na Ba pass. That's a proper mountain road, steep and single track. Worth knowing before you set off. There's parking here though.
The Applecross Inn is about a ten minute walk away. They do good food, a lot of seafood. There's a shop about a mile away.
You'll see seals from the shore quite often. The garden leads straight down to the rocks. For a sandy beach, there's one about five miles away.
Good for walking. If you want to explore further, the Isle of Skye is a ferry trip away. Inverewe Gardens are about an hour's drive north. National Trust for Scotland Inverewe.
Inside, it's got a wood burning stove, WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, and a cot if you need it. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
