Mrs Cracker's Cottage

This is Mrs Cracker's Cottage. It's in Lund, which is a small village in the Yorkshire Wolds. The cottage is mid-terraced and from the 1700s. It sits right on the village green.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. They've given it a 5 Star rating. It's been done up nicely. There's a wood burner in the living room and the beams are whitewashed. The stairs are winding and cottage-style, so they're a bit steep.

The bathroom is larger than you'd expect for a cottage this age. It has both a bath and a separate shower cubicle. The garden is out the back. It's enclosed, with a patio, some artificial grass, and a gravel area. There's a barbecue and outdoor furniture.

In the village, there's a local pub on the green. It does food. About two miles away in South Dalton, there's a Michelin-starred restaurant, but you need to book well ahead.

You're right in the Wolds, so the walking and cycling from the door is very good. It's quiet, rolling countryside. Beverley and York are both under an hour's drive if you want a historic town or city day out. The coast at Hornsea or Bridlington is about a 30-minute drive. For stately homes, Sledmere House and Burton Agnes Hall are close by.

Facilities: it has pretty much everything. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
