The Barn is at Butts Farm in Wicken. It's a converted granary, so the layout is a bit different. You're on your own here, no neighbours attached.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms, with one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The main living area is up a flight of stairs inside. It's a big, light room with a wood burner. The kitchen is off there.
One of the twin bedrooms is up another flight of stairs in the attic. Mind your head, the ceilings slope.
Now, the quirk. The main double bedroom and its ensuite shower room are not accessed from inside the main cottage. You have to go back outside and use a separate external door to get to them. It sounds odd, but once you're in there it's a private, quiet room. It has a hot tub in it and French doors to a little patio.
The village is typical Fenland. It's flat, with lots of old waterways around. You can hire bikes nearby. The local pub is about a ten-minute walk.
Wicken Fen nature reserve is on your doorstep. It's a proper bit of ancient Fenland, good for walks and seeing rare wildlife. National Trust Wicken Fen has all the details.
Cambridge is about a 20-minute drive. You know what's there. Ely is about 25 minutes north, the cathedral is the main thing. Newmarket, for the racing museum and tours, is 15 minutes away.
For facilities: there's a dishwasher, the wood burner, WiFi, TV, parking right outside, and bedding and towels are provided. The garden bit is that patio by the double room. No pets.
