Denmark House
Denmark House is on Blue Bell Hill, on the North Downs. It's a detached house, so it's on its own. It sleeps thirteen people. Eight bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The place was a recording studio for years. The studio lounge is still there, but you have to ask to use it. We've done it up for holiday lets now. There's also a riding school and a cafe on the land, where you can book horse riding.
Inside, the main bit downstairs is open plan. Kitchen, living area, dining space. There's a big open fireplace. The kitchen has a large range cooker. Also on the ground floor, there's another living room in the old studio part, two double bedrooms, and a shower room. Upstairs there's another living space, three double bedrooms, three single bedrooms, and another shower room.
The garden is enclosed. You need to be inside from the garden by 9pm though, because of the neighbours. Just be mindful of noise if you're outside.
You're right on the edge of the village. There's a decent pub about ten minutes walk down the road. Maidstone is ten minutes in the car. The area is an SSSI, so the walks right from the door are very good. The views are too.
For days out, Leeds Castle is close. Chatham Historic Dockyard is about twenty minutes drive. The coast at Whitstable or Folkestone is roughly thirty minutes. You can get to Bluewater shopping centre in twenty minutes, or into London in under an hour by train from nearby stations.
Facilities wise: everything included. Bedding, towels, wifi, parking. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
