Dassett View is a cottage for two in Fenny Compton. It's attached to our house, Bayards, but you've got your own door. The building is old stone, from the 1600s originally. It was a cattle shed, then converted in the 70s. We've just redone it. It's a listed building.
You come in through a dedicated entrance into the kitchen. It's got everything you need. The stairs are oak and go up to the main living space. That's all open plan, with the bed, sofas, and a dining area. The view from there looks out over a horse paddock towards the Burton Dassett hills. The bathroom has a free standing bath.
It's a 4 Star place. That means it's comfortable and well-finished. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking, wifi, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and nowadays, an EV charger.
The village has a shop and a pub, both about five minutes walk. The pub does food. For walks, you can go along the Oxford Canal towpath right from here, or drive five minutes up to Burton Dassett Hills Country Park. It's good for a walk or a picnic.
You're well placed for driving to places. Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick, and Leamington Spa are all about half an hour. The edge of the Cotswolds is about the same. Farnborough Hall, a National Trust house, is just up the road. Bicester Village for shopping is maybe 25 minutes. Banbury is the nearest proper town for supermarkets.
We allow one well-behaved dog. There's a paddock next door, so please be mindful of the horses.
