Dassett View

Dassett View is in Fenny Compton. It's a cottage for two people, attached to our house, Bayards. The building used to be a cattle shed from the 1600s. It's a listed building, so we've kept the character but updated it inside.

You come in through your own door into the kitchen. Upstairs is all one room, with the bed, a sitting area, and a table. The bathroom is up there too, with a free-standing bath. The view from the main window looks over a horse paddock towards the Burton Dassett hills.

It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well-equipped. The stairs are the original oak ones, so they're a bit steep and winding, but there's a handrail.

Fenny Compton has a village shop and a pub, about five minutes walk. The pub does food. For walks, you can go along the Oxford Canal towpath right from the village. Burton Dassett Hills Country Park is a short drive away, good for a walk and wide-open views.

You're well placed for day trips. Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick, and Royal Leamington Spa are all about half an hour's drive. The edge of the Cotswolds is close, maybe 20 minutes. Farnborough Hall is just down the road, though it only opens certain days. Banbury is the nearest proper town for supermarkets.

Facilities: there's parking for one car right outside, an electric vehicle charger, WiFi, and a TV. We include all bedding and towels. There's a washing machine and dishwasher in the kitchen. You're welcome to bring one dog.
