The Duckling is a small cabin near Portnalong on Skye. It's detached, up on a bit of a bank. It's for two people.
The main thing is the view. The whole front is glass, looking straight out over the sea to the islands. You can sit inside on the sofa or outside on the deck and just watch the water change all day. It's very quiet.
Inside, it's one open room. It's a studio, so the double bed is at one end. The bed can fold up against the wall if you want more floor space during the day. There's a kitchen area with an induction hob, an oven, and a decent fridge-freezer. It's enough for making meals. The shower room is separate, with a walk-in shower.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped and comfortable. There's parking under the deck. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
You're at the end of the Minginish peninsula. The Talisker distillery is a few miles away in Carbost. The village pub there, the Talisker Inn, looks over the loch. For walking, you're right on the coast. The Walkhighlands site is good for routes.
A bit further afield, within about half an hour's drive, you've got places like the Fairy Pools, Dunvegan Castle, and Elgol for the boat trips to Loch Coruisk. The main link for planning is probably the official Isle of Skye site.
That's about it. It's a simple, modern cabin with that view. You come back from being out in the hills, put the kettle on, and just watch the light on the water.
