Ashwood House can be found in the suburb of Hoole, just over a mile from the centre of Chester. Benefitting from off road parking and a secure enclosed garden it makes a wonderful base from which to relax and explore away from the hustle and bustle.
Hoole itself boasts a shopping district that’s won several awards and prides itself on its independent reputation. You’ll find ample shops and businesses ranging from cocktail bars to yoga studios. A walk into the centre of Chester takes around 30 minutes, with the exotic animals of Chester Zoo and the thrill of horse riding at Chester Racecourse a mere 10-minute drive away. Chester boasts fabulous shopping including along the Tudor Rows, and you’ll find culinary delights around every corner together with a whole host of attractions to visit. You can amble along the old city walls, stroll beside the River Dee, visit the Roman Amphitheatre, or even take a boat trip.
Outside the city within a 30-minute drive you’ll be spoilt for choice. There’s the mighty Beeston Castle, Delamere Forest and Wild Shore Delamere, the stunning Cholmondeley Castle Gardens, Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre, Bolesworth Castle which annually plays host for CarFest North, and for those with kids ‘The Crocky Trail’. If golf is more your game, there’s plenty around including the exclusive Carden Park Golf Course and Spa. Finally with North Wales also within comfortable striking distance, Ashwood House really does make a perfect all year-round destination.
