The Pump House is in Hawkesbury Upton. It's a detached stone cottage, sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The main thing is the garden. It's a large, open paddock style. Plenty of space to run around or just sit. The cottage sits in a few acres of grounds shared with the owners' house next door, so the view is over fields.
Inside, it's straightforward. The stairs are a typical cottage spiral, so mind your head. There's underfloor heating downstairs which works well. We've put in a stairgate and a highchair because we know families use it.
The village has two pubs, both serve food. There's also a community-run shop and a post office. They're all a couple of minutes' walk away.
For walking, the Cotswold Way path is about half a mile up the lane. You can pick it up from there. Westonbirt Arboretum is about ten minutes by car, it's good for all seasons. The historic town of Tetbury is a similar distance.
If you want to go further, Bath and Bristol are both within about half an hour's drive. Gloucester is a bit closer. We leave leaflets for places like Dyrham Park or Slimbridge if you're interested.
Facilities: everything on the list is there. Washing machine, dishwasher, bedding and towels included. Parking for two, maybe three cars. We accept one well-behaved dog.
