Owls Rest

Owls Rest is a stone-built apartment on the edge of Askwith village. It's for two people. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's a bit more finished than some.

The layout is upside down. You come in the front door on the middle floor. Then you go up a few steps to the main living area. That's where the kitchen, dining table, and sofa are. The TV is a smart one. Downstairs is the bedroom and the shower room. The bed is a good double. The shower is a proper walk-in one. There's a door from the bedroom out to a small patio at the back.

Outside, there's a main patio at the front. It gets the evening sun. You see a lot of birds from there. The name comes from the barn owls we get sometimes. There's off-street parking for one car, and a place to store bikes.

Askwith is quiet. It's about halfway between Ilkley and Otley. You can walk from the door straight into the fields. For bigger walks, you're on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Ilkley is about ten minutes drive. Has the Cow and Calf rocks, Betty's tea rooms, and a few shops. Otley is the other way, also about ten minutes. It's a proper market town with a high street.

Bolton Abbey estate is fifteen minutes away. Good for a long walk by the river. Bolton Abbey has the details. Skipton, with the castle and market, is about twenty-five minutes.

Inside, it's got everything you'd need. Wifi, dishwasher, washing machine, all the bedding and towels. The heating is included.
