The Old Post Office is in Corran, which is a very small place in the Highlands, right on the shore of Loch Hourn. It's a detached house.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, and the bathroom is up there too. It's got a 4 Star rating. The whole place was rebuilt about fifteen years ago, so things like the wiring and plumbing are modern.
The view from the front is the main thing. You look straight out over the loch towards the Isle of Skye. On a clear day you can just sit and watch it for hours.
Downstairs is mostly open plan. There's a kitchen and dining area, and a living room with a woodburning stove. We leave logs for you. It's a simple space, but it's warm and it works. The stairs are a typical cottage staircase, so they're a bit steeper than you'd get in a new build.
The property is accessible at the entrance for wheelchairs, and the downstairs is all on one level, but the bathroom and bedrooms are upstairs, so that's worth knowing.
You're right on the edge of the water. You can walk out the door and along the coast. There's a Munro right behind the village if you're up for a big hill walk. The local shop in Corran is a proper old-fashioned village shop. It has the basics. For a pub or a meal, you need to drive to Glenelg, which is about ten miles along the single-track road.
It's very quiet here. If you want a proper supermarket, a cinema, or lots of restaurants, this isn't the place. It's for being outside, or sitting by the fire looking at the view. You can bring up to two dogs.
Facilities wise: there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, wifi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can put up a cot or a highchair if you need them.
