Corran Shepherd's Hut is in a small village called Corran. It's in the Scottish Highlands, on the shore of Loch Hourn. It's very remote. The road in is single-track for about twenty miles.
The hut sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-finished. It's a proper building, not just a basic pod. It's open plan inside, with a woodburning stove. There's a big deck outside with chairs.
You're right beside a river, and you can see the loch. The view from the deck is mountains, water, and trees. You'll see red deer around. If you're quiet, you might see otters by the river or seals in the loch.
The village has a famous little tea hut. For supplies, you need to go to Glenelg. That's a half-hour drive back along the single-track road. Glenelg has a shop and an inn. From there, you can get the turntable ferry over to Skye.
Walking is right from the door. There's a coastal path. Beinn Sgritheall, the mountain you can see, is a Munro you can climb from here if you're experienced. For a different walk, you can get a boat from the nearby jetty across to the Knoydart peninsula. That's proper wilderness.
If you want a day trip, Skye is the obvious one. You can use the Glenelg ferry or drive the long way round via the bridge. Eilean Donan Castle is on that route.
Inside, there's WiFi but the signal out here isn't strong. It's a good place to switch off. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right next to the hut.
