Trawsfynydd Cabin is a detached wooden cabin up in Bronaber. It’s a quiet spot, just outside the village. The views are good, all towards the hills.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating. Everything is there and it’s comfortable. The main room is open plan, with the kitchen at one end. There’s a smaller separate sofa area with an electric stove that looks like a wood burner. It’s a nice spot to sit.
Outside there’s a big enclosed veranda. You can sit out there even if the weather isn’t perfect. There’s a stream at the bottom of the garden.
You can walk straight out from the cabin. Trawsfynydd Lake is very close for fishing or a stroll. For proper walking, the Rhinogs are right there. They’re tough but good if you know what you’re doing.
Blaenau Ffestiniog is about a ten minute drive. That’s where the adventure stuff is, like Zip World and Bounce Below. The little Ffestiniog Railway steam trains start there too, and go down to the coast.
In the other direction, south, you’ve got Coed y Brenin forest. It’s about ten minutes away. They do cycle hire and have miles of marked trails for walking or riding. Dolgellau is a bit further, maybe twenty minutes. It’s a nice town with proper shops.
The coast is about half an hour. Harlech Castle is that way, and Barmouth. Both are worth a visit.
Facilities: it’s all included. Bedding, towels, WiFi, parking for two cars. There’s a dishwasher. The garden is enclosed. You can bring up to two dogs.
