The Pigsty

The Pigsty is in Park End. It's on a working dairy farm my family runs. The views from up here are good, you can see right out over Cheshire.

It is what it says it is. It was converted from a pigsty years ago. It sleeps four, two bedrooms. Both have king size beds and their own bathrooms. That's handy.

Inside, there's a wood burner in the living area. Beams are low in places, so watch your head if you're tall. The kitchen is small but has what you need. There's a conservatory which is extra space, and it leads out to a patio with some chairs and a bit of garden. The sunsets are nice from there.

The farm is active, so you'll see and hear cows. It's a proper working place. The entrance and main living area are all on one level, so it's accessible if that's a concern. Parking is right outside.

For a shop or a pub, you'll need to drive about two miles. Newcastle-under-Lyme is about seven miles for bigger supermarkets. Keele University is four miles away.

If you're out for the day, Alton Towers is about half an hour by car. The Peak District is a similar drive to the north-east. Trentham Gardens is closer, maybe twenty minutes. For history, the Potteries towns are around, and the Ironbridge Gorge museums are worth a trip.

The place has a 3 Star rating. It means it's clean, comfortable and functional. There's a washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs.
