This is Hathaway Hamlet in Shottery, which is about a mile out from Stratford town centre. It's a one bedroom cottage that sleeps two. It's got a 4 Star rating.
It's one of a small group of cottages, all quite old. It’s got a thatched roof, which you don't see much these days. The upstairs beams are low. Just watch your head. The stairs are the old winding type, so take care on them.
Anne Hathaway's Cottage is literally just up the road, maybe a three-minute walk. It's a lot quieter here than in the middle of Stratford, but you can still walk into town in about 20 minutes if you want the theatres and everything.
There’s a village shop and a pub that does food about a quarter of a mile away. Warwick Castle and Kenilworth Castle are both within half an hour’s drive. The Cotswolds are on the doorstep too if you fancy a drive out.
Facilities wise: it’s got a washing machine, WiFi, and parking for one car on the gravel next to the cottage. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
For planning your trip, the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust site has all the details on the local historic houses. The Cotswolds website is good for ideas if you want to explore further.
