The Old Stables

The Old Stables is in Little Alne, a tiny hamlet north of Stratford-upon-Avon. It was part of a farm building, converted into two separate cottages. This one is the end one. You get your own enclosed garden.

It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so everything is good quality and works. The living area has high ceilings and a decorative mezzanine you can't go up, which makes it feel light. The stairs to the first floor are fine. The main bathroom is downstairs.

There's an open plan kitchen and living room. It has a wood burner. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's an electric vehicle charger on site. Bedding and towels are included. There's on-site parking and WiFi.

Little Alne itself is very small. There's a local centre with a cafe, a few shops, and a fitness studio. The nearest pub is a short drive away.

You're really well placed for getting out. Stratford-upon-Avon is about 15 minutes by car. You can walk along the river, see a play, or visit Shakespeare's Birthplace. Henley-in-Arden is close, it's an old market town. Alcester is a pretty Roman town.

The Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty starts about a 20-minute drive south. There are miles of good walking from the door. If you need to go to an event, the NEC is about half an hour away.

For planning, the Cotswolds website is useful, and so is National Trust Shakespeare properties.
