The Granary is a converted barn on our farm in East Tytherton. It's detached, so it's just you. It sleeps six people in three bedrooms, and each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating.
It was a granary, so there are old beams and the original pulley system for lifting grain sacks is still up there. We've left a few other bits and pieces from its old life in place too. It's a big, open space downstairs.
The garden is enclosed, so it's secure. It looks out over the fields. We've got chickens and pigs in paddocks nearby, which are fun to watch if you've got kids with you.
Because it's all on the ground floor and has wet rooms with grab rails, it works well for someone with limited mobility. There's parking right outside.
Inside, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, and a TV. Wi-Fi is included. Bedding and towels are provided. We can put a cot and highchair in for you. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
There's a games room in a shared outbuilding with a pool table and table tennis.
The local pub that does food is about two miles away. The nearest shop is in Chippenham, which is three miles. That's an old market town with supermarkets and what you need.
For walking, there are plenty of footpaths and cycle routes around here, and the Wiltshire and Berkshire canal towpath is close by.
If you want to explore, Lacock village is about a 15-minute drive. It's National Trust and they use it for filming a lot. Castle Combe is similar, maybe 20 minutes away. Bradford-on-Avon is lovely, like a smaller Bath, and that's about half an hour. Bath itself is under half an hour's drive. You've got the Roman Baths, the Abbey, and all of that.
For a day out, Bowood House has big gardens and a good adventure playground for children. Stonehenge is about 40 minutes by car. Avebury stone circle is a bit closer, maybe 30 minutes.
