Lobster Ponds is a house on the shore in East Helmsdale. It's on its own, right on the beach. You look out over the water from most of the rooms.
It sleeps ten people across five bedrooms. There are three bathrooms. It's got a five star rating, which means it's well-finished and properly equipped.
Downstairs there's a living room and a big kitchen with a dining area, both facing the sea. Upstairs is another living room they call the observatory. It's all glass with a balcony, so you can sit and watch the birds and whatever's going on out on the water. You can walk for miles along the shore straight from the garden gate.
Helmsdale village is about a ten minute walk. There's a shop, a post office, a couple of places to eat, and hotel bars that do food. There's a takeaway too. They have electric car charging points.
The coast here is good for finding fossils. You can try panning for gold in the Helmsdale river, which is a fun thing to do with kids. Dunrobin Castle is nearby, it's a proper fairytale-looking place. Further north you've got the Castle of Mey and John O'Groats.
For things to do locally, there's golf, fishing, cycling, walking, and surfing. You can get pony trekking as well.
The house has a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to three dogs.
