This is Farr. It's our place near Helmsdale in the Highlands.
It's a detached cottage, so you're on your own. It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with twins. One bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean but not fancy.
The big thing here is the view. You look straight out over the sea from the front. There's a little sunroom with a sofa right by the big windows, which is a good spot to sit and watch it. The living room has an open fire for cooler evenings. The kitchen is at the back. It's small, but it has what you need.
The garden at the front is enclosed by a small fence, but it's not totally dog-proof, so you'd need to keep an eye on them. The land behind goes straight up onto the open hill. You'll often see deer close by.
Helmsdale village is about a mile down the road. It's a steep, single-track lane, so take it easy. The village has a shop, a pub, and places to eat. There's a museum about the local history, including a gold rush they had here. The North Coast 500 route goes right through.
If you want a beach, there's a pebble one a mile away. For sand, you're looking at about twelve miles. The area is good for walking, fishing, or just driving. You can get to places like Dunrobin Castle or the North Highlands within half an hour or so.
Facilities are pretty standard. There's a washing machine, TV, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but the rest of the cottage isn't really laid out for it. We accept up to two dogs.
