Sunrise is in Navidale, just north of Helmsdale. It's a detached bungalow, so all on one level. It sits right on the NC500 route, so you'll see the odd car or motorbike go past, but it's off a little lane so it's quiet.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both doubles, and two bathrooms. One bathroom is an en-suite to the main bedroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's very comfortable and well-equipped. The main thing is the view. The living room has big picture windows looking straight out over the sea to the hills. It's a proper outlook.
There's a large kitchen and a decent sized living room with a Swedish wood burner. The hall is big enough for a table tennis table, which is there if you want it. The garden is over an acre, but parts of it are on a steep bank, so you need to be a bit careful. It's fully enclosed though, so it's good for a dog.
You're about a mile and a half from Helmsdale village. It's a proper fishing village. There's a shop, a couple of places to eat, and a pub. You can sometimes buy shellfish straight from the boats. The Timespan museum there is interesting, it covers the local history and the gold rush.
For days out, Dunrobin Castle is about 20 minutes south. It's a fairytale-looking castle with falconry displays. Further north you've got the Castle of Mey and John O'Groats. The beach is a short walk away. People find fossils along that stretch. If you're into golf, Brora's famous course is ten minutes up the road.
Facilities: it has a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome. It's wheelchair accessible, with level access and wide doorways.
