Watersreach

Watersreach is my place in Collieston. It's a detached cottage. You're right on the edge of the village, about ten yards from the shore. The sea view is constant. You look out over the water.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star, so everything's there and it's well-kept. The garden is paved and fenced. There's a decked bit to the side that gets the sun and is sheltered from the wind.

The front door is level and there's a parking space right there. Inside, it's straightforward. The owners are artists, so there's some of their work on the walls. It's bright.

You can walk straight out along the coast. The village has a pub that does food. For a shop, you'd drive to Ellon, about seven miles.

The Forvie National Nature Reserve starts just along the coast. You'll see lots of seabirds. The sand dunes are impressive. Newburgh Beach, about a fifteen minute drive north, has a huge seal colony.

Golf is at Cruden Bay, about ten minutes south. It's a famous links course. Slains Castle, the ruined one that inspired Dracula, is a few minutes north. The Bullers of Buchan, where the sea crashes into a pot hole, is a bit further up. Both are worth seeing.

Aberdeen is about half an hour's drive if you need the city or want to see the museums.

Facilities: Washing machine, TV, WiFi, BBQ, parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a highchair. No pets, sorry.
