This is Forvie View in Collieston. It's a two bedroom place that sleeps four. It's got a four star rating, which means it's comfortable and well equipped.
The layout is upside down. Bedrooms and the bathroom are downstairs. The living room and kitchen are upstairs. The reason is the view. You get a full view of the sea and the fields from the main living area.
There's one bathroom. We allow one well-behaved dog.
The facilities are listed at the bottom, but to pick out a few: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
Collieston is a small, old fishing village. It's quiet. The beach is about 800 yards away. It's sandy and sheltered by the pier, so it's good for kids. There's a shop called the Smugglers Cone that does good ice cream. The nearest proper shop is in Ellon, about six miles away. There's a pub and restaurant about five miles away.
The best thing here is the walking. You can walk along the cliffs to Hackley Bay. It's a beach inside the Forvie National Nature Reserve, surrounded by cliffs and dunes. It's rarely busy. The whole reserve is great for birdwatching.
Newburgh is five miles north. The seal colony on the beach there is worth seeing. There are two golf courses nearby, Newburgh and Cruden Bay, also about five miles away.
Aberdeen is 16 miles south if you need city shops or a day out. There are lots of other good beaches like Cruden Bay, Newburgh and Balmedie all within a short drive.
