Alice Cottage

This is Alice Cottage. It's on our farm in Clopton, Northamptonshire. It's a single-storey cottage converted from an old farm building.

It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. The wet room is wheelchair accessible, with grab rails and a seat in the shower. The doorways are wide, and the worktops in the kitchen are lowered. It has a 5 Star rating for accessibility.

You can open a connecting door to the cottage next door, Len Cottage, if you need more space. That makes a three-bedroom place. Or you can keep it shut and have it to yourselves.

There's a private, enclosed garden to sit in. It's a working farm, so you'll see sheep and fields. You're welcome to walk the footpaths on the land, there's about five miles of them. It's very quiet here.

Oundle and Thrapston are the nearest proper towns, about five miles away. They've got shops, pubs, and market days. For a bigger day out, Northampton, Peterborough, or Cambridge are all within about a 30 to 40 minute drive. Cambridge is famous for the university and punting.

There are a lot of historic houses nearby if that's your thing. Althorp, Castle Ashby, and Rockingham Castle are all close by. Burghley House is just over the border in Stamford.

Inside, it's got what you'd need. Wifi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
