Ard Darach Cottage enjoys a peaceful yet central location less than a 5 minute walk to the centre of Pitlochry. Built in the 1880’s, this charming and tastefully furnished cottage was originally the stables and sits opposite the main house in an acre of mature gardens. It has been lovingly restored by the owners to offer a delightful home-from-home, perfect for a break at any time of the year. The attractive living room has comfortable seating and exposed feature stone walls, and an upright piano and wireless all in one Hi-Fi system for evening entertainment. The spacious kitchen has everything you need and is well equipped. The owners aim to make your stay as comfortable as possible and are able to give advice on how to make the most of your time here. The bedrooms in the property are styled comfortably, boasting their rustic charm with exposed beams bringing more character to the room.
Wildlife is never far away despite the cottage being close to town, with red squirrels, pheasants and roe deer often frequenting the grounds. Pitlochry is known for its good range of gift shops, as well as the famous hydro-electric dam and salmon ladder. It has a very good golf course just a 5-minute walk away, 2 distillery visitor centres, excellent game fishing and of course the famous Festival Theatre nearby.
Further afield a myriad of activities and wonderful scenery await the visitor, from superb hillwalking to wildlife watching, horse riding, white water rafting and even bungee jumping and canyoning at nearby Killiecrankie. In winter, the ski resorts of Aviemore and Glenshee are just an hour’s drive, however all the shops, cafés and restaurants are within a short walk if you prefer to relax locally.
