Loadbrook Barn
Loadbrook Barn is on Load Brook, on the edge of the Peak District. It’s one of six barns around a yard here.
We’ve had it rated 4 Star. It sleeps ten people. There are five bedrooms and four bathrooms, which helps with a group that size. The space works well.
The barn faces south-west, so you get the sun in the afternoons. All the linen and towels are included. There’s a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a wood burner. There’s parking right outside.
Outside, you’ve got your own patio area with a hot tub. There’s also a shared garden with streams and ponds that all the barns can use. The site has a sauna and a quiet room in a separate cabin.
Location wise, it is rural. You’ll hear sheep and birds. There’s a pub about a mile away. The village of Stannington is a ten-minute drive for shops.
You can get into Sheffield in about twenty minutes. It’s useful if you need a big supermarket or want a night out.
The Peak District is right there. Ladybower Reservoir is ten minutes away. Castleton and the Blue John caves are about twenty minutes. Chatsworth House is half an hour, as is Bakewell. For walking, the Peak District National Park site has good maps and routes.
