This is 2 The Calf Pens, on our farm in Loxley. It's a barn we converted, so you'll see farm things happening outside, mostly sheep. It's a working farm, so there will be tractors and the occasional bit of noise.
It sleeps four, in two double bedrooms upstairs. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is about right. It's clean, warm, and things work. The kitchen has what you need, the washing machine is downstairs, and there's parking right outside.
You can walk straight out from the door. The village is strung out along the River Loxley and there are good paths. There are a couple of pubs in Loxley, a short walk away. They do food.
The main thing is the location. You're on the edge of Sheffield, so you can be in the city centre in about twenty minutes by car. But you're also right on the doorstep of the Peak District National Park. That's the big pull for most people. You can be walking in proper countryside in five minutes.
If you go into Sheffield, it's a big city with all the usual things. Theatres, the Winter Gardens, shops. Meadowhall is nearby if you want that. But the countryside is the other way. You've got all the Peak District villages like Hathersage and Castleton within half an hour, for walks or a pub lunch. National Trust Peak District has good info for places like Longshaw Estate.
Facilities are listed, but to confirm: bedding and towels are included, there's WiFi, a TV, dishwasher, and bicycle storage. It's a no-pets property, sorry. The farm is family-run, so if you have any questions while you're here, we're usually about.
