Glenhowl Lodge Kendoon

Glenhowl Lodge is a gate lodge near Kendoon. It’s detached, so you won’t have any neighbours attached. It sleeps four, two bedrooms, one bathroom. You can bring one dog.

It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s comfortable, but it’s not a hotel. It’s a proper country cottage.

The view from the front is great. You look out over fields and hills. The garden is enclosed, so it's fine for kids or a dog.

Inside, there’s a woodburning stove for cooler nights. It’s got the basics you'd expect: TV, WiFi, dishwasher, washing machine. There’s parking right there.

You’re about three miles from Dalry village. They’ve got a shop, a pub, and a restaurant there. For a bigger shop, Castle Douglas is 16 miles away. It's known for food.

You’re right on the Southern Upland Way if you like walking. For mountain biking, you’re central to a lot of the 7 Stanes trails.

Because it’s so rural, the night sky is very dark. You’re near the Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park. On a clear night, you can see everything.

Ayr is about half an hour’s drive north if you fancy the coast. Within that sort of drive, there are loads of little villages and things like the Scottish Wool Centre or Glenkiln Sculptures.

We include bedding and towels. A cot and highchair are there if you need them.
