Little Nymett is a thatched cottage. It's attached to one side of our house, which is also thatched and quite old. You get your own front door and a private garden.
It's for two people. One bedroom upstairs, one bathroom. The living room and kitchen are together downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. There are beams. The stairs are normal cottage stairs, so they turn a corner and are a bit steep.
It's outside North Tawton village, so you're in the country. The nearest shop and pub are about a mile and a half away in the village. For a restaurant, you'd drive to Okehampton, which is about six miles.
Okehampton is useful. It's got supermarkets and shops. It's also the main gateway to Dartmoor. You can be up on the moor in about ten minutes from there. Lots of walking, from easy strolls to proper hikes. Pretty villages with pubs up there too.
The north Devon coast is about an hour's drive. Saunton Sands, Woolacombe, Westward Ho!. Bideford is where you can get the boat over to Lundy Island if that's your thing.
Closer by, there's RHS Garden Rosemoor which is lovely. Castle Drogo is about twenty minutes away. The Tarka Trail for cycling starts at Great Torrington, which is maybe half an hour.
Facilities: there's a TV, parking right outside, and an enclosed garden. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
