Mill Of Burncrook

Mill of Burncrook is a converted mill house on the Glenlivet Estate in Aberdeenshire. It's detached, so there are no neighbours attached. You're right in the countryside here.

It sleeps six in three bedrooms and has two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and finished to a high standard. The rooms are spacious and it's very comfortable.

The kitchen is large and has an Aga as well as a regular electric oven and hob. There's a second living area they call 'The Nook' with its own wood burner. The main living room has big windows and doors that open onto a balcony. There's a second balcony outside with a hot tub.

The estate has miles of walking and mountain bike trails right from the door. You're on the Speyside Whisky Trail, so there are dozens of distilleries to visit nearby, like Glenlivet and Macallan. Dufftown, which is a big distillery town, is about five miles away.

For castles, Ballindalloch is close by and is worth a visit. If you drive for about an hour, you can get to the Moray coast. Places like Cullen and Lossiemouth have good sandy beaches. You can sometimes see dolphins from the coast.

If you're into golf, there are courses at Ballindalloch, Dufftown, and Grantown-on-Spey. The coastal links courses are within a drive. Aviemore is about 36 miles away for more shops and things to do. In winter, the Cairngorm and Lecht ski slopes are within easy reach.

The nearest shop, pub, and restaurant are in Tomintoul, which is about nine miles away. You'll need to drive for supplies or a meal out.

Facilities include all the basics: parking, WiFi, TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.

Useful links for planning: Glenlivet Estate for local walks and trails, and The Malt Whisky Trail for distillery information.
