Stonylea Cottage
Stonylea Cottage is in Cumbernauld, near Glasgow. It's a detached cottage in Palacerigg Country Park. So it feels quite rural, even though Glasgow is only half an hour away.
The park is big, about 700 acres. You'll see deer and hares. Lots of birds too, like owls and kestrels. All the walks start right from the door. You can follow them to old mining sites.
The cottage itself sleeps five. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and functional. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you have a dog. It says we can take pets.
You're on the edge of a golf course. Horse riding is half a mile away. The nearest pub or restaurant is about a mile. The shop is three miles, so you'll want to drive for that.
Facilities wise: there's a woodburning stove, a washing machine, and parking. Wi-Fi, TV, cot and highchair are there if you need them. Bedding and towels are included.
For days out, Glasgow and Stirling are within half an hour. Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park is about 45 minutes by car.
